Naslednjega dne smo vstopili v jamo in takoj pričeli s fotografiranjem.

During autumn holidays our caving club organised a combined research – photo expedition to cave “Renejevo brezno” (Renee’s Abyss), which is at the moment second deepest cave in Slovenia. While research team worked at the bottom of the cave, photo team photographed upper parts of the cave down to -700m.

The plan was that photo team should have entered the cave two days after main research team, so that we could exchange at camps. Because the cable way did not work, Jure organised an all-terrain vehicle transport which, after some difficulties, delivered us some 100 meters below D station of the Kanin cableway. From there we walked to the cavers’ hut where we slept. The next day we entered the cave and immediately started taking pictures. At each re-belay station Gašper asked “Are we going to take pictures?” and I replied “We are!” And so it went down to the camp called P’r Gabrčku.

There I realised that I lost my foot ascender without which it would be difficult to get out of the cave. The other team members offered to lend me theirs, but that would be quite a sacrifice. In addition, after all day of shooting, I didn’t really feel rested and I was thinking all night whether to go ahead or go back. In the morning, we decided to return. It may have been better, because later on it turned out that it has rained heavily on the scheduled final day of the expedition, and the question is what would be the water conditions on the way out.
